WE ARE HIRING - DATA COLLECTORS

1. Background

RAHAMA is implementing a community-led health promotion initiative to identify and respond to pressing health challenges, improve awareness, and guide targeted referral support. As part of the initial phase, RAHAMA will deploy a mixed methods data collection approach to gain insights into community health priorities, knowledge gaps, and service delivery barriers.

2. Objective of the Activity

To collect, analyze, and synthesize community-level data on health knowledge, behaviors, and needs using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

3. Scope of Work

The activity will focus on 20 selected communities across 2 wards and mobile clinic catchment settlements in Zango LGA. The target groups will include:

  • Community and traditional leaders

  • Health care workers

  • Teachers

  • Women, men, and youths

4. Methodology

The data collection will use a triangulated approach, including:

  • Quantitative:

    • 50 structured questionnaires per community

    • Administered using KoboCollect

  • Qualitative:

    • 12 Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) segmented by gender and age groups

    • 10 Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with stakeholders such as community leaders, healthcare providers, and teachers

5. Roles and Responsibilities

RAHAMA will be responsible for:

  • Designing and digitizing data tools (questionnaires, FGD and KII guides)

  • Training and deploying field data collectors

  • Coordinating with community stakeholders for access and scheduling

  • Ensuring ethical data collection (informed consent, confidentiality, etc.)

  • Data analysis and interpretation

Data Collectors will:

  • Attend the training and tool pre testing sessions

  • Administer structured questionnaires using KoboCollect

  • Facilitate FGDs and conduct KIIs following standard ethical protocols

  • Ensure data quality, completeness, and timely submission

  • Report challenges to the field coordinator promptly

6. Deliverables

  • Completed structured questionnaires across 20 communities

  • Transcripts and summary reports of 12 FGDs and 10 KIIs

  • Preliminary findings report for internal feedback

  • Final analytical report (including charts, thematic summaries, and key findings)

7. Reporting & Coordination

  • Data collectors will report to the RAHAMA M&E Officer

  • Daily debriefings will be held to track progress and resolve challenges

  • A joint data validation and reflection session will be held at the end of the activity

8. Ethical Considerations

  • All participants must give informed consent before interviews or discussions

  • Data will be anonymized and stored securely

  • Community norms and cultural sensitivity will be strictly observed
