Social Media Influencers Engagement
Background
Rahama Girl Child and Women Empowerment Initiative (RAHAMA) is implementing a crucial initiative to enhance community-led monitoring and virtual engagement for HIV services among adolescents and young people in Kano State. This initiative has been necessitated by the increasing rates of HIV among this demographic. The organization recognizes the critical role of social media influencers in reaching adolescents and young people through engaging content that resonates with their followers. This Terms of Reference (ToR) outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and scope of work for social media influencers involved in promoting HIV services.
Objective
The key objectives of this social media intervention are to:
Deploy social media tools to improve the knowledge of adolescents and young people regarding HIV services in Kano State.
Provide a platform for discussions and the elimination of social stigmatization against people living with HIV.
Utilize interactive strategies to promote virtual engagement and address misconceptions about HIV.
Reach adolescents and young people with accurate information and resources about HIV services.
Influencers must:
Be residents of Kano State.
Be passionate about promoting HIV services and related services.
Have at least 10,000 followers on each of the platforms (Facebook, X, and TikTok), totaling a minimum of 30,000 followers across all three platforms.
Serve as role models in their communities and virtual spaces.
Be available to participate in screening events and stakeholder meetings (both physical and virtual).
Avoid controversial topics and must not use their platform to promote any form of gender discrimination.
Be between the ages of 18 and 40.
Responsibilities
Influencers will be expected to:
Attend a physical screening event for a health education movie.
Produce one short, captivating, educational video on HIV services monthly for ten months.
Use specific hashtags and tags provided by RAHAMA to ensure visibility and tracking.
Participate in both physical and virtual training sessions to enhance their understanding of HIV services strategies and community engagement.
Engage with their audience by responding to comments and messages related to HIV services.
Collaborate with other influencers and organizations to amplify the message.
Amplify other contents produced by the organization/partners.
Deliverables
Ten short videos (not more than 2 minutes each) related to HIV awareness, to be produced once monthly for ten months.
Share links to social media posts across X, Facebook, and TikTok.
Provide a monthly engagement metrics report and a comprehensive report at the end of the ten months (e.g., reach, impressions, interactions).
Timeline
Start Date: November 1, 2024
End Date: August 31, 2025
Compensation
Compensation for the influencers will include a monthly stipend for data, training, certificates, and other incentives. A detailed compensation structure will be provided upon agreement.
Code of Conduct
Influencers are expected to:
Maintain professionalism and respectfulness in all interactions.
Ensure all content is original, factual, evidence-based, and free from stigma or discrimination.
Respect confidentiality and privacy.
Monitoring and Evaluation
All activities will be in line with the M&E Plan of the Project and will be communicated upon signing the agreement.
