Menstrual Hygiene Day 2021

May 28th, 2021 is Menstrual Hygiene Day. We visited GGSS Gandun Albasa, Municipal LGA  of Kano State to raise awareness on menstrual hygiene and demonstrate how to make reusable sanitary pads. 

Our health personnel talk to the girls about hygiene, common misconceptions and debunked some of the menstrual myths.

 She also highlight on douching, infection, seeking for medical care and opening up to mothers/guardians for things they don't understand. She also indulged a Q&A with them. 

Our volunteer Tailor conducted a practical session on how to sew reusable sanitary pads using cardboard and materials.

 We successfully engaged the community members of Kwarin Barka in Kano State. This is part of the social awareness project for GBV and SRH. These girls and women were engaged on the need to serve as advocates in their respective communities, providing access to adequate information, resources and referrals.  Together we can advocate against GBV and provide access to information on SRH.
