International Day to End Fistula 2021

On the #InternationalDaytoEndFistula, it is a reminder to all of us that we can end Fistula together. 

We have to keep working together for all the Women out there suffering with the disease. In Northern Nigeria, prolonged labor and child marriage are the main causes of Vesico-Vaginal Fistula. Therefore, we have to do everything we can to help raise awareness and provide support to the patients of the disease. 

Some of these patients are shunned away by family, lack of financial support to seek for treatment and sometimes abandoned by their husbands.

 We successfully engaged the community members of Kwarin Barka in Kano State. This is part of the social awareness project for GBV and SRH. These girls and women were engaged on the need to serve as advocates in their respective communities, providing access to adequate information, resources and referrals.  Together we can advocate against GBV and provide access to information on SRH.
