Journalists Training - Journalists Against AIDS

This week, we supported a Journalist Training coordinated by Journalists Against AIDS in Lagos to build the capacity of media houses and Journalists on TB reporting, community sensitisation and mobilization for the uptake of Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment. 


Our head of programs @umaribro, @oyinbowazobiafm and @ricqyultra represented Kano State and shared learnings so far on the 1HP Project and the uptake of TPT in those communities.

Community Engagement

 We successfully engaged the community members of Kwarin Barka in Kano State. This is part of the social awareness project for GBV and SRH. These girls and women were engaged on the need to serve as advocates in their respective communities, providing access to adequate information, resources and referrals.  Together we can advocate against GBV and provide access to information on SRH.

Annual Visitation

  We visited Kano Remand Home today as part of our annual visitations. We met and conversed with male juvenile offenders remanded for different offences.There are presently no female juvenile offenders at the home, some of them were recently transferred to Prisons and others released.  Some of their needs at the home include; drugs, brooms, detergents, food materials and vegetables etc. Thank you all for your donations and contributions.
