Rahama Girl Child and Women Empowerment Initiative

We conducted our first sensitization lecture against child abuse and rape at GSS Unguwa Uku today 27/11/2019 as part of the #16daysofactivism where various stakeholders such as law enforcement, lawyers, Islamic Scholar and Health Worker were able to discuss with the girls and teachers about prevention measures, post care and reporting. Sanitary items were distributed to the most active audience!!!

As part of the #16daysofactivism, RGCWEI collaborating with Children, Young Persons and Women Rights Initiatives (CYPWRIGHTS) and Charity and Vulnerable Support Initiative (CVSI) will be conducting Sensitization to take pro-active measures against child abuse and rape. Lectures will be conducted at the following secondary schools with dates as follows: 1.Maryam Aloma Secondary School 27th November 2019 2. Aminu Kano Community Commercial College 28th November 2019 and 3. GSS Unguwa Uku 3rd Dec. 2019. Volunteers can contact 07060681156 or 08066929136.

Invitation!!! We are pleased to invite the general public to our 3rd batch of the Girls/Women Empowerment Project (WEP). The 3rd batch of 56 girls and women were trained in entrepreneuship skills, vocational training(shoe and bag making, cosmetics and tailoring) and other social awareness programs such as advocacy to eradicate rape, domestic violence and child abuse etc. The event will take place on the 14th December 2019 at Ma'arifa International School 10.00am. Come one come all!!!

Our visitation to Dorayi Rehabilitation Center, Kano on 1st june 2019 was a success. Thank u all for contributing. We are grateful!!!

Our visitation to Dorayi Psychiatric Hospital(which is actually a Rehabilitation Center) will be on the 1st of june 2019 at 10am. A bus will be stationed at Masallachin Murtala and Sabuwar Gandu Training center for our beneficiaries and interested persons. Item to be donated include Gemicide, Detergents, Insecticide, Food(cooked or raw) and Clothes(fairly used or new. You can donate now or come along with it on the day.

As part of our Social Awareness Project where we conduct visitations to Prisons, hospitals and remand homes and conduct monthly awareness to the public etc.This year in kano In sha Allah we will be going to Murtala Muhammad and Dorayi Psychiatric Hospitals. As usual, our visitations are mostly toward the end of ramadan. Nevertheless, we have decided to open our food and clothing bank early this year. You can donate new/fairly used clothes and raw food.
